During our "Better Health Day" (every third Sunday of the month), we continued our spirit in prayer by doing a 'prayer walk' around our community. We prayed that God will pour out His Spirit in the community that they will seek and find Him and that we can be a helping light to those in need. Pray for your neighbors, pray for the strangers around your church community. It is what God desires, that we are in continuous communion with Him.
"There is no time or place in which it is inappropriate to offer up a petition to God. There is nothing that can prevent us from lifting up our hearts in the spirit of earnest prayer. In the crowds of the street, in the midst of a business engagement, we may send up a petition to God and plead for divine guidance, as did Nehemiah when he made his request before King Artaxerxes. A closet of communion may be found wherever we are. We should have the door of the heart open continually and our invitation going up that Jesus may come and abide as a heavenly guest in the soul." - Steps to Christ p.99
Come join us for a four night series on astonishing archeology discoveries in the land of the Bible! Begins tonight at 7:15pm through Saturday August 16! See you there!
We had the privilege of having the Washington Indonesian SDA Church Kolintang and Angklung Ensemble share with us their God given talents and music. They provided special music during divine worship and a special concert in the afternoon. The program was arranged by Jerson and Repell Caluya of our music department. Many guests from the surrounding SDA churches attended the concert. One guest was a student missionary many years ago in Indonesia, and when she read in the announcements that they were going to be at Lents, her and her husband made the commute all the way from Gaston, OR to attend the afternoon concert.
Heres a video clip to share just how wonderful the music was! Something as simple as bamboo and wooden blocks, (parts of the Kolintang-IndonesianMarimba, was made from wood purchased from Home Depot!) when used to praise the Lord, can sound so beautiful! Thank you Washington Indonesian SDA Church for coming! It was truly a blessing!
Here are the latest event flyers for our upcoming events through August 16! Feel free to download the file, print, and share! Or simply copy this link and send to friends and family. After each event, the flyers will be updated and posted here again. CLICK the "Read More" to see the flyers.
Another fun day at Vacation Bible School, Son Treasure Island! The kids were asked to bring friends. New faces appeared and new friendships were made! Praise the Lord!
Day 1 of VBS.
Ahoy! VBS is off to a wonderful start! Lots of kids, activities, and the church family!
Nothing like spending a Sabbath afternoon out in God's creation! The youth and young adults gathered for a picnic lunch and a great study of God's Word. A study of Exodus 16 reveals that God has special blessings for you when you rise early in the morning. Double the blessing when you prepare for His Holy Sabbath!
